I am Mikki Cheney and I am the principal at Hartland Farms Intermediate.  I have been in Hartland Schools for 29 years. I began my career here as an English and physical education teacher at Ore Creek Middle School.  From there, I moved on to counselor and assistant principal. Wanting to work with a younger age, I moved to Farms Intermediate as an assistant principal, and after a few years, I became principal and have been at Farms for the last 15 years.

My daughter and son have attended Hartland Schools. I am proud to be a part of the Hartland community as a principal and resident. It has been the perfect place to raise my children, and it is the place I will always call home.

Hartland Schools takes pride in working closely with the community and our families to build strong relationships while supporting our students.  Our motto, reason, respect, and responsibility, is what makes Farms, and our entire district, one of the best in the state.

I look forward to getting to know you and your child during your time here at Farms!

Sincerely,

Principal

Hello!  My name is Cristal Briskey and I am honored to be the Assistant Principal at Hartland Farms Intermediate School.

As a child, I attended Village Elementary School beginning in 2nd grade and graduated from Hartland High School in 1999.  In 2005, I began my career at Hartland Round Elementary School teaching in a resource classroom for students who struggled in reading, writing, and math.  In 2006, I transferred to the Farms Intermediate School to teach the extended resource program and moved on to a resource room teacher and Instructional Consultation Facilitator.  I became Assistant Principal in 2021 and have truly enjoyed the many roles I have had throughout my time teaching and as an administrator in Hartland.

Once having children, I vividly remember talking with my husband about purchasing a house and the importance of school districts. Without hesitation, we both knew that we could not raise our children anywhere but in the Hartland Consolidated School district.  Currently, my two daughters both attend Hartland Schools and are having an amazing school experience.

Teaching kids to believe in themselves, gain confidence to persevere and learn how to problem-solve in real world situations are the main reasons I come to work everyday and truly love my career in education.  These skills are so important for students to succeed.  I believe teachers and parents need to be the role models in their student’s and children’s lives to teach them how to be successful, functioning adults in the community.

I look forward to working with your children this school year.

Sincerely,

Cristal Briskey
